OUTCOME

We set ourselves a target at the beginning of our 20th year and that was to raise £20.000 over and above our usual fund raising and register 20 achievements be it new fund raisers, new events or new announcements, along with signing up 20Friends of Fable”.

Achievements

Through a number of new events, fund raising and donations we have reached our target with a total of £21847.40 and 20 different events or achievements. Sadly some of this was donated in memory of Ian Lam who tragically lost his life in March 2015 and through the generosity of his family, friends, clubs and well wishes raised £8730 for fable,

Gift Aid added another £1869.41 to this total. We were sadden by his loss due to his epilepsy but are very grateful to his family for setting up a just giving page in his memory and donating all the money to fable.

Sandra Howard our founder was honoured by being chosen as Tesco’s Charitable Mum of the Year. Tesco very kindly donated to each winning mum £1000 for being shortlisted and a further £5000 for being a finalist.

We have also been delighted this year to announce two new celebrity patrons
Ryan Sidebottom and Howard Webb. They both attended our Sportsman’s dinner which was a great night of fundraising and raised £693.50. This was the first time we had held an evening of this kind.

M &S Simply Food on Ecclesall Rd Sheffield chose Fable as their chosen charity to fund raise for during their local charity support months. Their magnificent fund raising aided by their customers raised £1602.54.

Donations from two Rotary Clubs, a magazine and a housing group added another £1050 to our target.

A number of different raffles organised by Stocksbridge Cycle Club, The Yorkshire Bank, Abbeydale Sports Club, netted another £566.

Events organised by Emma Brownhill, Gareth Howard, DIY Performance, The Source as well as our own fund raising events brought in another £1335.95. It has been a marvellous 12 months that is almost over as we look forward to our 20th anniversary black tie ball and then into our 21st year. To all those that made this possible thank you.
