‘Fable Charity Provide Peace of Mind without Intrusion’

Sheffield based Epilepsy Charity ‘Fable’ are pleased to announce that by working in partnership with Irwin Mitchell Solicitors we are in a position to help support a local family by donating a smart watch to Sheffield teenager ‘Kaisha’.

Kaisha who suffers from Epilepsy, has recently started secondary school in Sheffield and wanted to build her independence and have the freedom of being safe if she has a seizure away from home.  With help from Irwin Mitchell we have funded an epilepsy smart watch, which detects when she is having a seizure and will send an alert to her nominated carer along with a GPS location of where she is.  This offers her family very much needed peace of mind of her safety whilst gaining Kaisha the independence she craves.

“We are so pleased that we have been able to grant this piece of equipment to Kaisha and her family and thank the team at Irwin Mitchell for their continued support to our cause.  We work hard to secure further funding to allow us to meet the needs of families for medical equipment they can’t obtain personally.  Further information about our Medical Equipment Aid Programme is available on our website www.fable.org.uk.  We hope Kaisha continues to become more independent and do well at school despite the hurdles she has to overcome due to her Epilepsy.”

“We’re delighted to be able to support the valuable work of local charity, Fable, as one of their longstanding corporate supporters.  At Irwin Mitchell we have seen first-hand from our clients the effects of epilepsy and how sufferers can often feel isolated as a result of the condition.”
“We first met Kaisha in 2016 when we helped provide a new laptop through the Fable Dream Factory Project; the laptop assisted Kaisha prepare for her sats exams.  It’s been wonderful to have the opportunity to see Kaisha again, and we very much hope that the smart watch will allow her to grow her independence as she moves onto secondary school.”
