Equipment Aid Programme

F.A.B.LE. (for a better life with epilepsy) of 37-39 Bedford Street Sheffield S6 3BT registered in England and Wales with Charity Number 1058958 (“FABLE”)

These terms and conditions apply to the application and grant of any dream/wish or Equipment Aid request to the exclusion of any other terms. We follow a set protocol and applications are considered in date order. 

Applications which fit the full criteria will be placed on a waiting list until funding or sponsorship is available. We will endeavour to keep the applicant informed as to the progress.

How to apply

  • All official application forms should be completed and returned to the FABLE head office 37-39 Bedford Street Sheffield S6 3BT within 6 weeks of the Application Date accompanied by any relevant documentation. Applications received after this date will not be considered and a new application would need to be made


  • To be considered for the Dream Factory project or Equipment Aid Programme the Nominee must be resident in the UK upon making the application.
  • The Nominee should not have had a previous wish granted and or been given any equipment by FABLE or any other wish making or equipment providing organisations. FABLE reserves the right to exclude/withdraw applications where the Nominee has previously received any such wish.
  • FABLE is only able to grant one wish and provide one piece of equipment per application.
  • Applications for day trips, short breaks or holidays will not be considered, however we can direct you to organisations that specialise in this sort of request.
  • Any Nominee under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult on any granted application.
  • Where applications for Seizure Alert bed alarms or any other safety equipment are made, the Nominee /guardian/carer undertakes to return the equipment to FABLE when it is no longer required.
  • FABLE aim to make any granted wish or dream a reality as soon as it is able to do so and the Nominee has medical approval from a medical professional to participate. The same applies for any equipment requests, we will endeavour to provide this as soon as we are able and all criteria have been met.
  • Consent to the publicity and disclosure clause on the Application Form must be signed by the Nominee or guardian.

  • Our medical equipment programme provides the funding of items which will enhance patient’s quality of lives. The equipment we endeavour to fund must be a need to the patient whether it is at their own request or request of a family member or carer.  The fund is aimed at providing peace of mind for carers without intrusion to the individual.  Requests are only considered when funding for the item is not available from any other source.

  • In the event of any breach of these terms and conditions by the Nominee, Applicant, Guardian or the Nominee’s carer, FABLE reserves the right to void/suspend/cancel/amend the wish or dream at its discretion.

Limitation of Liability

  • FABLE accepts no liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of granting the wish or dream or by providing equipment, except where caused by negligence.

Governing Law

  • These terms and conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of, or in connection with, it, its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of England and Wales.


  • The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of, or in connection with, this application, its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims).

Fable reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions as necessary.
