Charity Fundraiser of the Year 1999

Sandra Howard F.A.B.L.E. founder scooped the inaugural Pride of Britain Award

The award was presented to Sandra at the Dorchester Hotel in London
by Footballer of the Year 1999, David Ginola.

The Mirrors' Editor Piers Morgan said of the awards ceremony: "We at the Mirror wanted to pay tribute to the outstanding men, women and children who make this country so great. From triumph to disaster, poverty to prosperity, adversity to beating the odds, we sought to embrace the very best of British and salute the sung and unsung heroes of our time"

The judges consisted of: Virgin Boss Richard Branson, Spice girl Mel G, Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell, Piers Morgan and Mirror advice columnist Miriam Stoppard.
