Fundraising Roundup

In this current economic climate we are very humbled and grateful that a number of individual supporters have come forward and chosen to raise funds for our charity.  The money they raise will help us help those who are affected by the condition through the work we carry out.

After reading the stories about the individuals who raised funds for fable, you may decide this is something you would like to get involved with, you can meet with a member of our fundraising team to discuss your ideas, or receive a copy of our fundraising information pack please contact us as we would love to hear from you.

Fable Film with Channel 4’s Posh Pawn Brokers
21st June 2016

Fund raising comes in all shapes and sizes so when we were given the opportunity to potentially sell a Gown given to us by Queen Noor of Jordan whom Sandra Howard met at the 1999 Pride of Britain awards we jumped at the chance.

The programme aired on June 21st this year. Dan Hatfield of London Road Jewellers was the expert to whom we took the gown. Filming had been done earlier in the year and was done at both the fable office and the pawn brokers.  The gown was a kaftan with matching wrap and its own bag to keep it in. Presented in a large burgundy box with the Royal Crown on top and accompanied with a printed card bearing the Queen’s name.
Unfortunately with no written provenance it was difficult for Dan Hatfield to get an accurate valuation.
On our return to the shop Dan so wanted to support the charity he very kindly offered us £500 for the gown. Dan and his mum attended the 21st anniversary ball for fable in May and they have now chosen fable as their charity to support.

“We are extremely grateful for their support and look forward to working with Dan and his family on some fundraising events together.

Dan surprised us when he visited the office to make the payment by very kindly
increasi ng his offer to £750.

This will go a long way towards helping with our Dream Factory Project.”
